Honey Nut Granola.

A major corner has been rounded in this house. I bought honey. Yes you might recall me having said that I would never do such a thing, but it was not for me and a taste-test while using the stuff confirms that I personally still feel the same way about the stuff. However, the hubs thought it would be good in his granola so I thought I could give it a try for him.

It turned out pretty well. The most noticeable difference from the agave versions is just that the honey is so sticky. But the honey does pair really well with the yogurt, so the hubs is happy! I will likely convert over to honey. And I am going to do my best to cook with it and try to like it. Honey is just so pure and unrefined. It really is the better way to go. Who knows, maybe we will get bees…hope that goes better than the worms have been. They keep leaving!! Anyway, if you are so inclined, you should try out this nut and honey granola recipe.

3 C thick rolled oats

1/3 C flax seeds

1 C peanut butter chips

1 C roasted/salted peanuts

1/4 C unsalted butter, melted

1/2 C honey

Preheat oven to 325. Combine dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Add butter and mix until everything is evenly coated. Add honey and mix to completely combine. This could take a few minutes. Place on a large baking sheet covered in silpats. Bake for 30 minutes, stirring the mixture every 10 minutes to ensure the edges don’t burn.
